On Friday, March 29 from 7-8:30 p.m., the Arts Council for Long Beach’s Open Conversations series kicks off at the Aquarium of the Pacific’s adults-only Night Dive event. Join the Arts Council and Port of Long Beach for an insightful talk on maritime photography. Port of Long Beach photographer Tim Rue, who was featured in Bloomberg’s 2018 Year in Pictures, will talk about his adventures documenting maritime life from the air, land, and sea. Also hear from Arts Council Artist Registry photographer Eddie Davila, who uses photography to document the ocean and surrounding environment. Learn about the Port of Long Beach’s PHOTO Program and view the Port of Long Beach PHOTO Gallery pop-up collection, which features photos from the 2018 PHOTO Program collection.

Stories of Boundaries Professional Artist Fellows Exhibition
Stories of Boundaries, a culminating exhibition for Arts Council for Long Beach’s 2017–2018 Professional Artist Fellows, opens Saturday, August 18, from 6–9 p.m. The exhibition features four Long Beach artists whose work exemplify artistic merit and professional achievement. The fellows are Kristin Beeler, Jose Loza, Brittany Mojo, and Gerardo Monterrubio.
Arts Council for Long Beach Announces Drake Chavez Greenbelt Park Muralists
The Arts Council for Long Beach launches the Drake Chavez Mural Project, an initiative that will install two public art murals along the western walls of the park. This project is in partnership with Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine and the office of Councilwoman Lena Gonzalez (1st District).

East Village Arts Park Grand Re-Opening
Councilmember Pearce’s Office is proud to announce the Grand Opening of the newly revisioned East Village Arts Park in Downtown Long Beach. The kickoff event will be an Open Conversations event focused on what residents would like to see in the Arts Park, and what process they would like to see in programming. The event will be topped off with live music.
