The Arts Council for Long Beach and Black Lives Matter Long Beach Chapter collaborated with Long Beach Dept of Parks Recreation & Marine in creating two memorial bench artworks to commemorate the lives of Donte Jordan and Frederick Taft.

The project site decisions were collaboratively chosen with respective families, Black Lives Matter Long Beach Chapter, and the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation, and Marine. Frederick Taft's life was taken at Pan American Park. Donte Jordan's life was taken a block down the street on Chestnut Ave.
