Art@Work will present Long Beach-based artist Annie Stromquist and San Pedro artist WS Milner in an exploration of the intimate and otherworldly through print and sculpture.

WS Milner, a multi-disciplinary artist working out of AGCC, explores the idea of myth and histories both created and uncovered in her sculpture. Her reliquary of sculptural insects, goddesses, and flora recall the feeling of wonder in an imaginative world. As she notes, “ancient things still embody the essence of something crucial. They’re reminders that we’re all part of a very old story.”

Annie Stromquist‘s intimate screenprints and drawings, in conversation with Milner’s sculpture, capture a similar sense of the ethereal and connection to the earth. Her works on paper explore the human condition through a poetic lens, working with abstracted but recognizable imagery. The compositions often appear minimal, with empty space used as an active presence.

The opening reception will be held on June 20th from 6-9 p.m., and is currently open by appointment only.

Location: Art@Work, 100 Oceangate Suite 375, Long Beach, CA 90802
