Port of Long Beach PhotoWorks Program

Port of Long Beach Photo Works

In collaboration with the Arts Council for Long Beach, the Port of Long Beach is proud to bring you PhotoWorks. This program is taking the place of the 2020 Port PHOTO Program, which has been reimagined due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Create Your Own Container

The Port of Long Beach and the Arts Council for Long Beach launched Create Your Own Container, a Do-It-Yourself container project designed by local artist and designer Nick Zegel.

You can watch the tutorial video for step-by-step details and download the PDF to participate. Prints of the design will also be available as an insert in the Gazettes Newspaper on April 15, 2021.

The first 100 people who share their container design on Instagram using hashtags #artslb and #portoflongbeach will be entered into a drawing for $100 from Tuttle Cameras.

If you would like to be a host location to distribute printed copies, please email Judy Estrada at judy.estrada@artslb.org.

Photo Works Workshop Series

The program consisted of five monthly educational workshops on the topic of photography. The video workshops were posted on the Port’s PhotoWorks Facebook Group on the first Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. from November 2020 until March 2021. Additionally, every month we shared a keynote speaker video where professionals from across the country share their best tips and tricks to help you expand your photography skills.

You can still join this opportunity to learn from some of the best local photographers, show off your creative skills, win great prizes and hear from nationally renowned professionals! This will also serve as a chance to network with professionals in the field and local people with similar interests, all in one space. Oh, and did we mention the PhotoWorks program is open to the public, free of charge?

The Port of Long Beach and Arts Council for Long Beach are excited to present the PhotoWorks Program, a virtual photography workshop series. The first session will begin November 5.
