School of Fish Crosswalk 3

City Fabrick

Implemented as part of the City of Long Beach North PBNIS (Place Based Neighborhood Improvement Strategy) project. The Starr King/College Square neighborhood is located directly adjacent to the Long Beach/Compton border, and the community wanted imagery that reflects and welcomes you to Long Beach. The fish in the crosswalks are swimming south, toward the ocean, joining pedestrians on their voyage across the street, increasing their safety. Drivers are made aware of potential pedestrian crossings by seeing a contrasting bright blue, white, and black crosswalk from afar.
