Council District 9

More commonly known as North Long Beach, City of Long Beach Council District 9, is home to neighborhoods College Square, Starr King, Hamilton, McKinley, Powell, De Forest Park, Houghton Park, Grant, Ramona Park, and St. Francis. Somme most notable artworks include the “Veteran’s Memorial Mural” by Art Mortimer off of Harding St. or artist Mer Young’s “The Guardian” off of Artesia Blvd.

Council District 9 has collaborated with the Arts Council for Long Beach and demonstrated their commitment to bringing arts and culture to Long Beach residents through three iterations of the Uptown Creative Corridor Challenge.
