Arts Council for Long Beach seeks proposals from artists for the Community Corners crosswalk mural project, an initiative that will install four bulb-out murals at the intersection of 15th St. and Chestnut Ave in the Washington Community.

2022 Go Human Mini-Grant Project: Arts Council for Long Beach

In Long Beach, 2022 Go Human Mini-Grant Awardee Arts Council Long Beach produced the “Washington Neighborhood Community Corners” project, which will permanently install community-driven asphalt murals on four local intersection bulb-outs. This project used the Go Human Kit of Parts Lending Library of traffic safety resources to temporarily demonstrate curb extensions and gather community feedback about the upcoming intersection improvements.

This public art project is in partnership with Habitat LA and Long Beach Day Nursery and generously funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies, the JAG Foundation, the City of Long Beach, and the Southern California Association of Government’s GoHuman mini-grant.
