HITOTZUKI

HITOTZUKI is a collaborative art duo from Japan chosen to paint for Long Beach Walls (FKA POW! WOW! Long Beach) 2016. The mural is monochromatic blue and partially covers the entire building. The dynamic curves and motifs cascade down the building reminiscent of water rolling down a stream. To the artists, the color blue can have many meanings both positive and negative. To show case the color completely, they both collaborated to find new meaning in their work. The mural breathes new life into its downtown location and elicits a peaceful energy. HITOTZUKI translates to sun and moon a positive/negative.
