Tribute to the Roughnecks

Cindy Jackson

Cindy Jackson’s Tribute to the Roughnecks is a cast sculpture of two men, represented in the depiction by Signal Hill Petroleum chairman Jerrel C. Barto and Shell Oil employee Bruce Kerr. The men are depicted installing an oil pipe symbolizing the City’s oil rich history and two of its key contributors. From the plaque, the sculpture is “to honor the courageous men and women who have been a part of the fields of Signal Hill, a field proven to be one of the richest in North America.”
