The Collaborative

Various Artists

In partial fulfillment of the Percent for Public Art obligation for its gallery421 mixed-use project, Lyon Communities created a contemporary art gallery—The Collaborative. At approximately 1,000 square feet, the gallery is intended to provide an urban space where groundbreaking artists have the opportunity to create new, site-specific installations. The mission of The Collaborative is to present exhibitions that raise awareness of emerging artists and new, innovative approaches to art.
The Arts Council for Long Beach (ACLB) and the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) are partners at The Collaborative, providing curatorial and administrative oversight for this innovative space.
