Far From Tired

Telmo Miel

Contemporary artistic duo Telmo Pieper and Miel Krutzmann, from the Netherlands, were chosen to paint a mural for the Long Beach Walls (FKA POW! WOW! Long Beach) 2016 street art festival. The mural is titled “Far From Tired”. The artists illustrated a high contrast image of a newborn baby and the endangered California Brown Pelican. The message of this mural tells us that we must conserve and care for our species just as if they were a delicate newborn baby. The mural is painted in red and blue hues and made up of multiple solid and transparent layers giving the design depth as the figures pop out. Pieper and Krutzmann incorporated the buildings facade by leaving the brick exposed to make the mural look more natural within its urban surroundings.
