Crack in the Wall by Jane Boyd is a cautionary depiction of the environmental dangers resulting from nuclear war. A fragment from the wall is “missing” revealing the nuclear cloud that has caused the crack in the wall. This crack divides a school of dolphins swimming in the ocean that has been depicted next to a lush, tropical island. Planet Earth looms overhead as a reminder to take care of the one and only home humans have.
