Microgrants
The Arts Council for Long Beach offers funding for professional development opportunities and Long Beach-based projects. Project Microgrants are available for local projects that are free, open to the public, and beneficial to Long Beach residents. Professional Development Microgrants are available for Long Beach artists who are seeking assistance with funding for professional development opportunities, such as a workshop or a conference.
The next application deadline is February 15, 2025.
Cycle 1: Events Dates: October 1–December 31, 2024; Application Deadline: August 15, 2024
Cycle 2: Events Dates: January 1–March 31, 2025; Application Deadline: November 15, 2024
Cycle 3: Events Dates: April 1–June 30, 2025; Application Deadline: February 15, 2025
Cycle 4: Events Dates: July 1–September 30, 2025; Application Deadline: May 15, 2025

Applicants will be notified as to the status of their application after the Arts Council board meeting following the application deadline. Both of the Arts Council’s Microgrant programs accept applications throughout the year until funds have been fully allocated.
Project Microgrants
Project Microgrants are available for projects that are free, open to the public, and beneficial to Long Beach residents. Successful applications will demonstrate that the project supports community representation and cultural respect while also encouraging cultural diversity and/or enhancing underserved communities, neighborhoods, or populations of Long Beach.
Applicants may request a maximum of $1,000.00 per fiscal year.

Professional Development Microgrants
Funded professional development opportunities must enhance the organization’s or artist’s ability to serve Long Beach residents. Successful applications will demonstrate that the opportunity benefits the applicant, the applicant’s organizations, and/or the Long Beach community, particularly underserved communities, neighborhoods or populations.
