WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?

A Washington Community Neighborhood Mural Project

The Washington Neighborhood Basketball Court Mural Project is a collaborative effort between Washington Neighborhood Youth, ArtsLB, and Books & Buckets (a youth-serving organization).

With the guidance of the community, they aim to design and create a vibrant mural on the basketball courts at 14th Street Park in Long Beach’s historically underserved Washington Neighborhood.

WHERE IS THE PROJECT LOCATED?

The mural will adorn the 14th Street Basketball Courts, a central gathering point for neighborhood youth and a hub for Books & Buckets impactful activities.

The mural project involves Washington Neighborhood youth, fostering a sense of community stewardship and pride.

The Arts Council for Long Beach, in partnership with Books & Buckets, seeks your insight to help design art murals for the 14th St. Basketball Courts. Youth leaders have identified three artists who are members of the Arts Council for Long Beach’s Artist Registry to work with.
