The Arts Council for Long Beach (ArtsLB) is thrilled to announce that we will begin actively promoting the ArtsLB Artist Registry starting January 2025! This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the talented artists who make up our vibrant arts community, and we can’t wait to share your incredible work with a wider audience.

A Growing Community of Creatives

Since the launch of our refreshed website in 2018, the Artist Registry has grown exponentially, now featuring over 1,400 artists from diverse disciplines. This registry is a vital resource for artists in Long Beach, connecting them to opportunities, collaborations, and audiences from local to regional levels.

Our efforts to promote the registry extend far and wide, including public officials, business owners, and art supporters from Sacramento to Los Angeles and Orange Counties. One of our most exciting partnerships was with the Los Angeles Metro, which utilized our Artist Registry to commission artists for the 2021 exhibition, “We Are… Portraits of Metro Riders by Local Artists.”

What is the Artist Registry?

The Artist Registry is a database of artists who live or work in Long Beach. It includes artists categorized into four groups: Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Folk & Traditional Arts, and Literary Arts. We have organized each group into smaller segments, including muralists, culinary artists, and storytellers. We have organized each group into smaller segments, including muralists, culinary artists, and storytellers. We utilize this database to connect individuals, organizations, businesses, and public officials with artists for hire. Additionally, the Artist Registry helps us advocate for artists and brings together the diverse array of Long Beach artists with their community. Our goal is to foster connections that enhance the vibrancy and expressiveness of our city.

Why the Artist Registry Matters

The Artist Registry not only serves as a directory of creative talent but also acts as a platform to advocate for the incredible artists who live and work in Long Beach. Through the registry, artists gain visibility, access to networking opportunities, and the chance to participate in unique collaborations like public art installations and exhibitions.

How You Can Get Involved

  • Dancers are a great way to kick off any event.
