Sparc
Sparc’s mural is an homage to Mexican artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera who are surrounded by corn stalks, roses, cacti, flying butterflies and a calavera playing a guitar as a nod to Mexican printmaker, José Guadalupe Posada. The background is in shades of blue, white, yellow, green while Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera are painted in gray blurry haze contrasted by Posada’s stark, black and white calavera. Sparc was born in Mexico City, Mexico and raised in Long Beach, CA. He is a modern painter with a clash of graffiti, graphic designs, and illustration. Sparc has done murals for many local business such as Studio One Eleven, Millworks at the Packard, and Playa Amor. He has been commissioned by NBA Legend Amare Stoudemire and has done extensive work with curator/artist Antonio Pelayo.
