The Arts Council for Long Beach is seeking up to 10 art/performance activations for the 2020 LB Art Walk.

LOCATION: East Village Arts Park and Downtown East Village Long Beach (see map)

EXHIBITION TIMELINE: May 2020 – December 2020

ELIGIBILITY: This opportunity is open to artists residing or working in the Greater Long Beach; age 18 and older.

ARTIST/PERFORMANCE HONORARIUM: $1000 to cover all programming and installation costs.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: All entries to be submitted by MIDNIGHT on or before April 6, 2020.

 PROGRAM GOALS AND INFORMATION

This program is designed to enhance the local environment and promote the understanding and enjoyment of public art by inviting artists to temporarily activate the East Village Downtown area.

All proposals submitted for the Art Walk Call should enhance, highlight and showcase the diverse and vibrant Long Beach creative scene.  It is important to the Arts Council for Long Beach for public artwork to offer a source of inspiration and pride for the community and patrons alike. As the city navigates the ebb and flow of new construction and old community, the revitalization and re-connection of our Long Beach community is of utmost importance.

Artists shall provide a short written statement as part of their submission explaining how their artwork addresses and illustrates the theme.

Arts Council has partnered with businesses in the Downtown and East Village Arts District to promote the LB Art Walk and artists that participate.
