On Saturday, May 11 from 4–10 p.m. the Arts Council for Long Beach will be leading the effort to activate the East Village through the LB Artwalk. The Arts Council will focus efforts on strengthening partnerships between businesses and artists while creating a collaborative and inclusive artwalk experience. The May 11 LB Artwalk will be a soft launch, featuring Eddie’s Liquor Collective, and the Arts Council will continue to build on the monthly event through a series of community forums.

Artists and art enthusiasts alike can walk the route of their choice which expands 7 city blocks with 6 Galleries, 21 Murals, and 28 businesses.

Executive Director Griselda Suarez stated, “With an arts community this diverse, it is important to include an array of art forms and artists. Second Saturdays of the month are opportunities to showcase the strengths of our public imagination. This month Eddie’s Liquor Records is unleashing their talent in fitting Long Beach fashion.”  The East Village Arts Park event highlights Long Beach’s homegrown, up and comers who are already gaining global traction. Headliners include: Senay Kenfe, Budgey, Huey Briss, Nice Guy Vinny, HDDN JMMZ, Jay Curry and Seafood Sam.

Currently, the Arts Council is working on a LB Artwalk webpage to serve as the hub for information, complete with a new map of participating locations and events. A printed map will also be available at key hub locations throughout the artwalk.

The LB Artwalk and programming at the East Village Arts Park takes place from 4–10 p.m. Hub locations include: The East Village Arts Park; CACtTUS Gallery; District Wine; Hops & Vines; and MADE by Millworks.
