Winter Artist Retreat Residencies
The Retreat is our most hands-off residency program, built to give you the time and space to think and work first and foremost, with the opportunity to present your work to new audiences.

ABOUT:
The Residency Project (www.theresidencyproject.org) provides time and space to support creative research, multi-disciplinary artistic practice, collective living, and public access to the arts. Situated in a vibrant urban neighborhood in Pasadena, California, The Residency Project @ 880 provides an opportunity for artists-in-residence to live and work with access to the thriving arts scenes, diverse cultural landscape, and natural resources of Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley.

WHO SHOULD APPLY:
Emerging, mid-career, and established professional artists, as well as students in degree-seeking programs are all welcome to apply.

We invite applicants of all races, ethnicities, national origins/citizenship (international applicants are welcome), religious affiliations, gender identities, and sexual orientations.

Our programs are not medium-specific and are perfect for creative practitioners from many different disciplinary backgrounds or with a cross-disciplinary practice. Writers, artists with a social practice, performance artists, and visual artists are equally encouraged. 

APPLICATION FEE:
None

RESIDENCY PERIOD:
Terms of stay are flexible. Retreats typically range between 1 and 4 weeks and should be no shorter than 6 nights/7 days.

January 3–16
January 20–March 3

PROGRAM FEE:
The program fee is assessed at a rate of $45 per day based on the agreed-upon length of the residency.
