The Arts Council is grateful to have two interns this summer, funded through grants from the Getty Foundation as part of its Multicultural Undergraduate Internship program and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.

Estefania Gallo, Marketing and Grants Intern: Estefania will assist our marketing and grants staff with preparations for our annual grant panels, website updates, database management and other marketing and grants-related initiatives. A Long Beach native and Reed College liberal arts major, Estefania is involved in chamber choir, vocal jazz and musical theatre productions. She has interned with organizations like Mujeres de Maiz and assisted a former Long Beach councilmember with community outreach.

Daisy Rosas, Public Art Intern: Daisy will assist our efforts to create a public art database on our website by helping with research, cataloging and photography. Recently, Daisy helped establish an archive at Arts & Services for Disabled, Inc. (ASD) and curated an exhibit at the Long Beach Health Department, she has since then continued work as a part-time art instructor with ASD. An Art Education major at Long Beach City College, her two-person art zine publisher Dog Knit Sweater is painting a mural for North Long Beach’s Uptown Creative Corridor Challenge.
