“REVELATE”, curated by Jeff Rau, features work by ten local Long Beach artists exploring the power of art to reveal. Their work illuminates hidden narratives, marginalized identities, and interior worlds, and brings focus to things that often pass unseen or unnoticed. Whether drawing attention to the quiet details of everyday life or boldly amplifying underrepresented voices, these artists invite us to bear witness to a different experience of the world and recognize the things we have ignored or taken for granted — revealing truths both personal and collective. The exhibition is a call to pay closer attention to what is hidden in plain sight, what has been forgotten, and what is waiting to be seen.

What Makes This Event So Special? The exhibition is more than just an opportunity to admire incredible works of art—it’s a chance to engage directly with Long Beach’s creative heart. Whether you’re a lover of the visual arts, an enthusiast of performance, or simply curious about the vibrant culture of our city, this exhibition promises something for everyone. The carefully curated selection of works includes visual art, media, audio, performance, and more, offering an intimate glimpse into the minds of Long Beach’s finest artists.

What is the Professional Artist Fellowship? The Professional Artist Fellowship is a prestigious grant program that honors the living artists of Long Beach who have profoundly impacted our local communities. Artists who live, work, and/or actively create within the city and have maintained a consistent exhibition or production record over the past three years are eligible to apply. The fellowship is awarded based on artistic merit and professional achievement, embracing all genres of artistry, from visual and performing arts to culinary and literary works to folk and traditional arts.

This fellowship is more than just a grant. It recognizes the immense talent and hard work of our city’s artists. It celebrates those who have made Long Beach their canvas, creating works that speak to and with our communities.

The Annual Professional Artist Fellowship Art Exhibition Opening is an excellent opportunity to view beautiful works and connect with the artists behind them. It’s an afternoon of inspiration, culture, and community, a perfect Saturday afternoon. By attending, you’re supporting the ongoing growth of Long Beach’s thriving artistic community.

Come and be part of this special celebration of creativity! We look forward to seeing you at the Billie Jean King Main Library on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM. Admission is free, and all are welcome.

Let’s make this a day to remember!
