Summer is almost here and we’d like to highlight some fun summer art camps and classes taking place over the break. There are classes in visual arts, performance, dance, music, writing and more.

The Art Exchange has partnered with Able ARTS Work for the 2017 Summer ArtExperience. The ArtExperience offers inclusive art classes to children ages 6–12. For more information visit artexchangelongbeach.org.

Art Smart Studio for Kids offers wide range of summer art camps for ages 5–12 years old. For more information visit artsmartstudioforkids.com.

Homeland Cultural Center offers year-round classes in urban and traditional arts. The programs are open to all ages, people and groups. Visit their website for a schedule of classes and events.

International City Theatre is offering a Summer Youth Conservatory for ages 7–15. This 4-week-long conservatory features instruction in acting, music, dance and movement taught by industry professionals, culminating in a special presentation for parents and friends. Long Beach Museum of Art offers free family art making workshops on the museum’s lawn with a view of the ocean. Workshops are held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. every third Sunday of the month from September through June and every Sunday in July and August. For more information about the workshops visit lbma.org.

The Long Beach Playhouse offers a Summer Youth Musical Theatre Conservatory for ages 7–17. The three-week day camp invites each young actor, singer and dancer to develop their skills in daily classes. For more information about the program visit lbplayhouse.org.
