A symbolic animal to many cultures in regards to wisdom and knowledge, Ricky Hernandez centers the head of a stoic, brown owl to represent such ideas. The owl seems to have stuck its head out from an opening of the tree of which it finds itself. Underneath its head are the words “Wisdom 3 Awareness” alluding to the association between wisdom, awareness and owls. Berries and leaves adorn the rest of the panel creating a sense of where the owl is. The piece is tagged with “#LBPeaceProject”, an initiative highlighting works of art promoting peace and solidarity during times of civil uprisings.
