Max Sansing

Max Sansing is a Chicago-based artist that combines his experiences as a graffiti artist and studying at the American Academy of Art. His pieces more than likely consist of an African-American figure covered and/or surrounded by vibrant colors, reminiscent of his street art upbringing. Most of his portrait subjects also wear a necklace adorned with an old-fashioned string. His piece in Long Beach features two children: one African-American and one of Asian descent. The Asian girl appears to have two keys holding up her bun instead of wearing a key necklace. The black boy is wearing a headwrap and the mural also shows a small landscape that includes palm trees and ferns.
