Hilda Palafox

Hilda Palafox was born and raised in Mexico City where she studied graphic design at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (Spanish for National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature). Most of her works feature women of all shapes, sizes and colors exploring different environments, emphasizing her strong use of patterns and complementary colors. Her palette for this mural follows the theme as well: warm tones of yellow and orange surrounded by deep blue sea; specifically, Palafox depicts them underwater in swimwear, surrounded by coral and sea creatures.
