Spruce Goose and Brown Pelican

Hataya Tubtim

What the Spruce Goose and Brown Pelican have in common are their natural brown color and ability to fly and transport large amounts of material and food, respectively. The Spruce Goose flew its first and only flight over the Long Beach Harbor on November 2, 1947 as the largest wooden airplane. Many Brown Pelicans can be spotted near the coastline diving from the heights of 65ft right into the ocean, expanding their bill’s pouch to carry up to 2.6 gallons of water.
