Pah-ke-sar

Kaplan Bunce

The piece is to honor the Tongva people who are the original inhabitants of Long Beach and to remind people that Long Beach is Native land. It’s a part of Bunce’s prayer to be a good human who contributes to community where Pah-ke-sar means red tailed hawk. This bird of prey has been in what is now Long Beach for thousands of years.
