Arts Council for Long Beach feels it is important to let you know that your health and safety are top of mind amid concerns about the coronavirus.

This morning the Arts Council received Governor Gavin Newsom’s recent press release regarding COVID-19. Mayor Robert Garcia tweeted his support of the Governor’s recommendations to cancel large events. Though the Interns in the Arts luncheon will have less than 250 attendees, we cannot comply with the Governor’s recommended social distance of 6 feet per person. It is with deep regret that we are canceling the luncheon.

This decision was not made lightly. We took into consideration and are following the lead of local college campuses moving to online courses and canceling events.

Arts Council will continue to highlight the Creative Long Beach Internship Program via social media. Your funds aren’t merely supporting a college student. Your contributions are an investment in real change and positive growth within our great city. Now the full amount of your ticket or sponsorship becomes a tax-deductible donation. We will be issuing a formal tax receipt for your records.

Updates for future events will be available on our website and social media platforms.

With regards to the raffle for JetBlue tickets, the drawing will still take place and we will announce the winner Friday via social media and email.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
