Composer, conductor, and author Jack Curtis Dubowsky, a recipient of the 2022-23 Professional Artist Fellowship of Arts Council for Long Beach, is thrilled to announce that the Jack Curtis Dubowsky Ensemble (#JCDEnsemble) will perform his all-new original live score to Charlie Chaplin’s 1921 silent, first feature film, THE KID.
This authorized, all new original score will be debuted by a nine-person ensemble at the beautiful historic Art Theatre in Long Beach on Retro Row, Saturday August 3, 2024.

Says Dubowsky: It’s an honor to premiere a new, authorized score to this moving Chaplin masterpiece. In six reels, this picture traverses stunning comedic and emotional breadth, giving our ensemble amazing opportunities to showcase a cast of characters and delight the audience.
