The Hmong New Year Festival is family celebration of all good things of the past year and all good things to come in the tradition of the Hmong harvest festivals for hundreds of years. From 9 am to 4 pm, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7-8, 2019 at the Golden Grove Section of Eldorado Park, the gathering highlights Hmong musicians, dancers and singers, especially the youth program at Homeland called “Qeej Not Gangs.”
The festival includes performance artists, food, and sports in the lovely outdoor setting. Families dressed in Hmong traditional clothing provide additional artistic expression. The clothes are decorated in bright, colorful intricate embroidery and tinkling silver coins. Experience a touch of the Hmong mountain villages in Laos right here in Long Beach.
