What is a “Feminist Cafe? Did you know that tea shops and cafes were at the center of feminist movements throughout history?
Tea rooms and coffee houses gave women a rare platform to exchange ideas and challenge social norms. In 1848, five women met for tea in Waterloo, New York. This informal meeting sparked the famous Seneca Falls Convention two weeks later. The FIRST women’s rights conference
So many of our rights are under attack, with women and queer individuals—particularly those in marginalized communities—at the forefront of these challenges. It’s vital that we come together in a safe and inclusive space so we can build community and embrace each other’s intersectional perspectives that define our diverse identities.
