Elegies: Writing Through Grief & Loss [virtual]

November 8, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

DSTL Arts presents:

Elegies: Writing Through Grief & Loss
presented by Karo Ska

In this virtual session, we will discuss and read poems focused on individual and collective loss. We will consider how grief shows up in our bodies, and how writing about it can release it.

Topics of conversation will include:
– grieving, not only people, but what we didn‘t have or didn‘t receive as children
– honoring and mourning our ancestors
– intergenerational trauma and the impacts of genocide (current and historical)

The session will begin with a short breathing exercise for grounding. After the discussion, writing prompts will be provided, with time to write and an option to share.

Registration Fee: $15*

*100% of all proceeds will help us keep our core programs free for our community!
