Pacific Collective, in conjunction with the Arts Council for Long Beach, has a call for local mural artists to activate a two-tenant strip at the corner of 3rd and Redondo in Long Beach. There is a planned renovation of the space to be completed in 2017. Until the renovation is complete, there will be a 6-foot-high construction fence surrounding the perimeter of the parking lot. The scrim (black screen hung on a chain link fence) will be the canvas for the mural.

Pacific Collective is looking for mural proposals that advocate for social change through acceptance and understanding. Artworks that evoke a sense of belonging for marginalized groups are encouraged.

The submission deadline is Wednesday, October 5, and submissions can be emailed to cap@artslb.org with the subject “3rd and Redondo Project.”
