All Media 2019 Application

The Irvine Fine Arts Center is pleased to announce the annual juried All Media exhibition, and invites Southern California-based artists to submit artwork for consideration. This year, the exhibition will be juried by award-winning artist, curator, and writer Constance Mallinson.

Submissions are being accepted through July 14, 11:59 p.m.

The Irvine Fine Arts Center is a community venue that presents exhibitions that are designed to expand awareness, understanding, and sensitivity to art, and provide an exploratory and educational viewing experience for diverse audiences.

Exhibitor Rules & Requirements

Exhibition dates: September 7–October 26
Opening reception: Saturday, September 7, 4–6 p.m.

Application deadline: July 14, 11:59 p.m. PST
Notifications sent: July 26
Loan agreements for accepted artwork due: August 9
Artwork delivery: August 19–24
Artwork pick-up: October 30–November 2, 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m.


ELIGIBILITY

Open to all artists residing in Southern California. All entries must be original and not shown previously at the Irvine Fine Arts Center. Eligible media: painting, photography, printmaking, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, craft, installation, video and digital art. Work must be made within the last 2 years.

ENTRY FEES

$20 for one entry. Each additional entry is $12. Maximum six entries per artist.  

IMAGE REQUIREMENTS

Please submit JPEG images measuring 2000 pixels on the longest side, 96 dpi. Please name images as follows: first name, last name, entry number. Example: johnsmith1.jpg

PLEASE NOTE: Submission of artwork does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibition. Entry fees are non-refundable.

JURY NOTIFICATIONS

Notification of selected and non-selected work will be sent via e-mail by Friday, July 26.

JURYING PROCESS AND AWARDS

The juror will select the artwork to be included in the exhibition from the images submitted. Artwork that does not meet the expectations set forth in the images may be withheld from the exhibition at the juror’s discretion. The juror has the sole responsibility for the selection of the artworks with no exceptions. PLEASE NOTE: Submission of artwork does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibition. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Awards are selected by the juror from the accepted entries. First Place: $500; Second Place: $300; Third Place: $200; three Honorable Mentions: $100 each.
 


ABOUT ALL MEDIA 2019 JUROR

Constance Mallinson is a nationally renowned artist, writer, and curator. Her artworks have been acquired by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Pomona College Museum of Art, San Jose Museum of Art, and National Academy of Sciences. Her writings have been featured in Art in America, X-TRA, Fabrik, Artillery, and The Times Quotidian. She recently curated The Feminine Sublime at the Pasadena Museum of California Art and Urbanature at ArtCenter College of Art and Design’s Alyce de Roulet Williamson Gallery. She has taught advanced courses in art at University of California, Los Angeles; University of California, Santa Barbara; Otis College of Art and Design; and ArtCenter College of Design. Mallinson has been a recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the City of Los Angeles.
