Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time. This quote by Thomas Merton has always rang true for me. Art has always been a part of what makes me whole, and I can say that because of it I look at the world with a childlike wonder. For the conscious part of my 26 years on this earth I find myself constantly drawn to building and creating on paper, canvas, prettymuch all I can get my hands on.
My philosophy of art is to just let it flow from you. Your unconcious thoughts, fears, love, and anger all have a place in art and all are welcome at its door step. Although I paint and draw I hope to enjoy my time with ArtsLB as a Henna body artist! Getting involved and joining community events has always been something I love to do. I feel it’s important we all do our parts to better not only ourselves but each other, and I feel that art certainly has a way of pulling people together.
