The Night Shift Art
Formerly, art was a severely neglected path in my life. Though I always felt the urge, and always loved surrounding myself with creatives throughout my entire life, I was always torn between passion and survival. I didn’t pick up a paint brush until I was confined in my home during the COVID-19 shutdown. I worked the night shift, so would often be up in the hours when the world slept, hence my name, “Night Shift Art.” I used inspiration from nature, society, and feelings of awe to create natural and surreal paintings on canvas with oil and acrylic. Since then, I have painted many pieces, trying to channel the joys and sadness of humanity. Usually this is through natural serenity, where I find solace from the world, an escape represented in many pieces. Though my technique is not smooth or perfected the way many classic artists are, I like to think my paintings bring forth deeper emotional layers using bright, vivid colors to evoke feelings beyond everyday mundanity.
