Stephanie Han

I’m an artist fascinated by the natural world. Most of my paintings and drawings are inspired by nature and I love working with fluid, organic forms. Most of my work is representational, but I also love the challenge of abstract expressionism. I work primarily with acrylic and canvas, but pen, charcoal and wash on paper are also my go-to’s. My goal as an artist is to never stop growing and exploring, and staying true to myself.

I was born in Seoul, S. Korea, and came to the U.S. in 1978. I obtained my BFA degree from the Laguna College of Art & Design in 1995. After working for a few years in the marketing department of a large corporation, I entered the MFA Illustration program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and earned my degree in 1999. I came back out to Southern California soon after graduation and started pursuing a career in painting and graphic design. I’ve exhibited mostly in Southern California and is currently a Senior Art Director at the graphic design firm JDA Inc in Long Beach.
