Sander Roscoe Wolff

I am a fine art photographer, videographer, musician, writer, and sound/noise/performance artist. I’ve also created sound-driven kinetic sculptures, and participated in drone rituals as part of the Hop-Frog Kollectiv. In all my work I explore abstraction of natural forms and sounds using a variety of processes. I often work intuitively, exploring materials, techniques, and systems without a specific plan. Sometimes, though, I work with very specific intentions. My work is often deeply personal, exploring ageing, memory, and decline, the burden of nostalgia, and the gift of forgetfulness.

Raw Materials (2022)
In the midst of pandemic isolation, I reached out to 10 professional musicians and solicited improvised recordings of their chosen acoustic instrument Musicians from Sweden, Brazil, Germany, and America sent recordings to me, which I then extensively processed to the point of complete abstraction.

Fourth and Ximino (2024)
This is an archival giclee print digital pinhole photograph, part of a series I started in January of 2024. The series explores the abstraction of memory, the burden of nostalgia, and the gift of forgetfulness. It, and two others, were included in the Long Beach Creative Group's Annual Show Shake-Up.
