Rae Hauser
My name is Rae Hauser and I am lifetime practicing multi-media visual artist as well as one of the residents at the Vault Warehouse based in Long Beach, California. Inspired by vintage mystique and the human psyche, my work toes the line between past, present, and future. As a result, my art assesses the human experience under an aged and expansive lens. While feeding my endless craving to learn about our inner world, I express my findings through a number of artistic mediums. You’ll find in each piece values of antiquity and sustainability through my use of reclaimed and pre-loved materials.
I strive to evoke thoughtfulness, intention, and depth in all my work. From what began as vibrant oil paintings, my artistic experience has led me to set design and mystical interior design in 2023. My work has led me to wonderful opportunities with venues such as NonPlus Ultra, Lodge Room, Elysian Theater, and Zebulon. Most recently, I received the generous opportunity to work with Mark and Johnnie of Houston Brothers Hospitality to design their new Mr. Wanderlust room of their Level 8 project soon to open August 2023. Captivated by their work jetsoning themed venues in Los Angeles, I design spaces throughout Long Beach that invite vibrant community gatherings and playfully showcase human history. I aim to infuse folklore, antiquity, and mystery into every venue to bring much more depth and intrigue to the hospitality industry. As a result, I have designed and opened two spaces to the public in Long Beach since 2022 that have supported numerous local art colleges, student films, and local musicians. By the names of “Jade House” and “Artist Warehouse” these beautifully curated spaces themed to the Victorian era and 60s eclectic artist can be found on platforms like Peerspace and Giggster.
With its incredible art deco buildings and what remains of its artistic history, my mission is to revive Long Beach’s lost antiquity and breath new life into forgotten areas of the city through interior design, murals, and creative community collaboration rooted in history.
