Pat Sheng

Artist Mission Statement:

Music is the universal language. As a jazz saxophonist, my mission is to open meaningful dialogue with both audiences and fellow musicians simultaneously.

Short Bio:

Patrick Sheng is a jazz saxophonist, composer, and arranger, currently serving as the Director of Instrumental Jazz Studies at Long Beach City College.
As a performer, Patrick has performed all over the world as a professional musician, and has shared the stage with jazz artists such as Joey DeFrancesco, Wycliffe Gordon, Tom Scott, Jeff Coffin, Andy Narell, Wayne Wallace, and many others. He has also performed with the Spokane Symphony Pops, Washington-Idaho Symphony, The Harry James Orchestra, and has been featured on recordings and articles in Jazziz Magazine.
As an educator, he has taught jazz and saxophone courses at McNeese State University, Clark College, and Washington State University. He has served as the president of the Louisiana Association for Jazz Education, and is currently the Music Association of California Community Colleges (MACCC) Southern Section President.
