Artist Profile

My name is Nicole Sloan and I am a photographer residing in Long Beach, CA. My photography is a mix of studio work as well as street photography. I work with other artists, as well as models and strangers. I am drawn to people with unique looks, that question societal norms, or who utilize fantasy and costuming to create unique images. As someone who feels like an outsider, I enjoy connecting with people by taking their picture.

During my time living in Long Beach, I received my Master’s in Fine Art Photography from Cal State Long Beach and have had the privilege of teaching adjunct at Cal State Long Beach as well as part-time at Long Beach City College. I have also volunteered for local art organizations here in Long Beach (Babes Supporting Babes, Fine Art Round Table, COMMON: Artist Collective), and feel passionate about the art and the people here.
