Michele Rene

Pushing and pulling clumps of color on canvas is one of my most favorite things to do. Whether an image is planned or emerges on its own, a conversation happens between the painting and my soul, transmitted through the conduit of a paintbrush. Each creation is an imaginary friend that I share with the world. ~ Michele Rene

Bio: Michele Rene was born and raised in southern California. One of four daughters, she grew up in a household where art and music were celebrated. As a youngster, Michele preferred a sketchbook to baby dolls and completed her first painting around the age of five. In high school, she was chosen to join a group of students who attended a six-week life drawing class at Otis Parsons in Los Angeles. Aside from that course, Michele is considered self-taught. Her work includes some abstract pieces, and a few still-life paintings, but the predominant theme in Michele’s collection is the human form, especially the female figure.

Michele has donated art to charities Comprehensive Childhood Development and Heels for Hearts, as well as the Women’s Business Council for The Long Beach Chamber of Commerce. Her art has been shown in solo and group exhibits in southern California, and is on permanent display at Hotel Maya.
