My passion is to create emotion, spark curiosity, and uplift and inspire humanity through composition, symbology, and color. I am mural artist, modern day renaissance man, entrepreneur, and the Chief Creative Officer of VIVACHE DESIGNS, headquartered in Los Angeles. I have painted over 100 murals throughout Southern California, the United States, and Worldwide. I also collaborate with like-minded individuals, artists, and organizations to develop, design, and paint large-scale murals ranging from 500 sqft to 100,000 sqft to enhance and beautify cityscapes, building walls, and empty spaces. Having worked with professional athletes to real estate developers such as Mitusi and The Toll Brothers, and commercial & residential architectural design & construction companies like Gensler, Clune, and CBG, and brands like NETFLIX and the Westin has prepared me as a seasoned professional mural artist with a complex understanding of materials, large scale murals, construction equipment, and procedures, contracts, scheduling, and deadlines.

The mural was commissioned by The Westin in Rancho Mirage, CA in 2023. This smooth stucco wall mural is 30″L x 20’W and is named, “Give In To The Desert™” . This one-of-a-kind mural was created, designed and executed by Vivache Designs‘ own Michael Che Romero, using 100% acrylic and spray paint.  This mural celebrates the Coachella Valley landscape and native wildlife. A dramatic sunset illuminates behind the San Jacinto Mountains in the midst of a lush super bloom.

In the center, the existing medallion with tiles are transformed into a desert sunflower, bursting, as the sun does in the desert. Statues of a flying burrowing owl, tortoise, and jackrabbit give an edge and harken to Desert X. These animals are also indigenous to the Coachella Valley. Finally the sign “give in to the desert” lends a pop and is reminiscent of mid-century modern, an important piece of Palm Springs history. Giving in to the desert encourages the viewer to truly immerse themselves, explore, and behold the magical wonders of the region.
