May Roded
My name is May Roded and I am a first generation Israeli-American printmaker and photographer, currently living in Long Beach, CA. In 2017 I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Printmaking at California State University, Long Beach. Since graduating, I have become a part time instructor at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where I teach Introduction to Drawing & Printmaking and Introduction to Studio Arts. I am also a Shop Manager at Josephine Press, a printmaking facility in Santa Monica, CA where I instruct Printmaking Workshops, such as Monoprint, Collagraph and Cyanotype. I currently share a studio space in the Artist Co-oP in the Zaferia District in Long Beach. In my art practice I explore themes of time, memory and the connections of self-identity. My work is heavily produced through analog methods such as traditional printmaking and sun printing practices.
