Marjorie Muns

In my watercolor paintings I am attracted to the shapes of things, their colors, lights and shades. I strive to create work that is quiet, harmonious and contemplative.

========== Bio:
Marjorie Muns studied at UC Santa Barbara and graduated with a BFA from UC Irvine.

Her early work was in serigraphy. Her current realistic watercolor still lifes investigate the effects of light on form, such as transparency, luminosity, and reflection. Her serigraphs and fine art watercolors are in the corporate collections of TRW, Price Waterhouse, Home Savings, Kaiser Permanente, Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Pacific Bell, Bellevue Hotel SF, Sheraton Hotels, and numerous private collections.

In addition, illustration commissions for advertising and publishing clients include: Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, Volvo, Dole Fruit, Van Den Burgh Foods, Quaker Oats, Publix Supermarkets, Folger’s Coffee, Chemical Bank, ScotiaBank, Coldwell Banker, MacMillan/McGraw Hill, Hearst Business Publishing, Diversion Magazine, Hachette Filipacci New Media, Penguin-Putnam, Random House, Gulfshore Life, and others.

She has taught watercolor at California State University Long Beach and the Long Beach Museum of Art.
