Kathy Lin
Hi, I’m Kathy Lin — a creator from Taiwan with a spirit as bright and generous as the California sunshine. I’m a go-getter who believes in the power of perseverance. No matter how many times I fall, I hold onto the belief that if you stay true to your passion, the universe will eventually open the right door.
Moving far from home, I’ve found that art and creativity are what keep me grounded. They’ve become powerful outlets—helping me process deep loneliness, build resilience, and adapt to a new culture and land.
The public artworks across Long Beach have comforted and inspired me as a newcomer. They’ve slowly erased my fear and anxiety, reminding me that it’s okay to be different. It’s okay to express your uniqueness. Everyone has a story, and every story deserves a space to leave its mark.
Through my work, I aim to reflect values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability. It’s my way of giving thanks to Long Beach—for accepting me, inspiring me, and helping me grow. I want to use my skills to make this city a place where every newcomer feels seen, welcomed, and connected—not excluded.
I look forward to meeting more people who share these values and want to create a more compassionate and creative world together.
