Kathryn Heaton

I’m a Long Beach ceramic artist and clay is my favorite medium. It is best suited for the expression of my multidimensional ideas. My intent as an artist is to engage the viewer on a heartfelt level with edgy, thought-provoking images. Combining unusual elements like a human figure with an animal in a whimsical and unexpected way has always been my approach to disrupt the ordinary. I use colors, shapes and textures to create a sense of depth and complexity within my pieces. Whether the viewers response to my art is love or disdain is immaterial. My art is meant to stir up something inside the viewer.
