Jamuna Priti

Jamuna Priti is a second-generation Filipina Muralist born and raised in Long Beach, Ca. She is heavily inspired by traditional Vedic art. As an artist, she seeks to build bridges between all different types of people, and her art is motivated by a desire to inspire the human spirit. Jamuna believes art has the power to heal, provoke, challenge, and offer hope to the soul, and it’s this responsibility that fuels her passion.

In her most well known large-scale mural series Ancestral Markings. her work incorporates traditional Filipino symbols, indigenous motifs, and natural elements like fruits, vegetables, and plants to celebrate cultural heritage and community identity. By creating murals over 1,000 square feet, she makes public art that helps marginalized communities feel recognized and valued.

Jamuna has been painting for the LA community and various Vedic temples across the country for over 10 years. Aside from her Ancestral Markings series, Jamuna’s other projects range from hand-painted signage & commissioned pieces for local businesses, to traditional Sanskrit mantra art, to teaching art classes to the youth— a project very close to her heart.
