Eva Loona Smith with Fine Folk is a folk and bluegrass group based in Long Beach and Los Angeles, California. The group is led by Eva Loona Smith who is Fine Folk’s songwriter. The band is made up of Eva Loona Smith on vocals and guitar, Dani Pickard on vocals, Reid Noble on mandolin, accordion, and vocals, Jack Sneddon on guitar and banjo, Eddie Oliver on keys, and Matt Marsico on bass. The band write songs inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell, Simon and Garfunkel, Laura Marling, and Billie Holiday. Eva writes in Danish and English and is also inspired by world music of all types. Fine Folk is made up of diverse acoustic instrumentation and lyricism. Fine Folk has previously done a West Coast tour, as well as having performed at numerous local venues and folk showcases. Eva Loona Smith released her debut album, “TEA(Teach Everyone Art)” in the fall of 2021 and incorporated Fine Folk into her repertoire for their debut album, to be released in May 2024.
Eva Loona Smith with fine Folk’s mission is to fuse genres and musical styles together from the inspiring roots of Folk music which really is music of the people, for the people. This group believes unity is possible through music alone with the message it promotes, and the community it creates. Eva Loona Smith with Fine Folk wants to bring live music back in full swing! All of their music is recorded live in the studio, and all of their live shows are creative and diverse every time. The name “Fine Folk” is nearly a translation of their message as it represents how with holding true the unifying roots of folk music, people will be just fine and can find something hopeful and some peace in all walks of their lives when they submerge themselves in this music.
