Erwin Papa is an illustrator, sculptor, and toy designer living in Lakewood, California. His work includes comic books, T-shirts, enamel pins, and illustrations for print and commercial work, as well as toys for independent companies. His sculpture pieces remain in the permanent collections of MF Gallery in Brooklyn in New York and Copro Nason Gallery in Santa Monica, California. His mural work can be seen in San Diego and Long Beach, California. Erwin has organized and curated art shows, as well as exhibited work since 2011.
He is part of Hello Welcome, an independent art collective based in Long Beach, which has organized shows exhibiting local artists and musicians through murals, galleries, art competitions, and musical performances. These shows were supported by the Arts Council of Long Beach and have been featured in the Long Beach Post.
Along with two other artist friends, Erwin has organized Ink & Drink Long Beach, a free and open to the public (21 years of age and over), monthly drink and draw event, currently held at Supply & Demand in Long Beach. The event’s main goal is for local artists to connect with each other by bringing them all together to build and strengthen the local art community, while hanging out and having fun with a few beers.
